About Chateau Guildford

Chateau Guildford Liquor store is nestled in the historic town of Guildford at the entrance to the Swan Valley wine growing region. Located opposite to the Swan Valley Tourist Centre, the store is 20 minutes from the Perth CBD and is easily accessible by car or train (Midland train line - Guildford Station). Ample parking is available for in-store shoppers.

Owned and operated by the Dinneen family since 1974, Chateau Guildford has built up an extensive collection of premium local, Australian and international wine and is known for its high quality of wine knowledge and service.

The Chateau Guildford complex includes the main retail area and a two-storey heritage listed building constructed in 1854, known as the Bond Store. This name reflects the original use of the building to store the “bonded” goods (eg whisky and rum) which were imported and barged up the Swan River from the port of Fremantle on which bond/excise had to paid to the colonial government. This building is believed to be one of only two historic commercial buildings in WA still used for its original purpose. It was also a licensed magazine for the storage of explosives.

The Bond Store is comprised of three levels. The upper level is used for tastings and functions, while the ground floor is used for display and sale of premium wine. The thick walls of the underground cellar provide cool, stable temperatures, ideal for the storage of premium and classical wines from around the world.
